The board of directors of Mylan Laboratories Limited comprises Rajiv Malik, Dr B Hari Babu, Sanjeev Sethi and Susanto Banerjee, who have vast experience in the fields of science, technology and management.

Rajiv Malik

Rajiv Malik is Mylan's president, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. Rajiv has held important leadership positions at Mylan since January 2007, when the company acquired a controlling stake in Matrix Laboratories Limited (now Mylan Laboratories Limited), one of the world's largest suppliers of active pharmaceutical ingredients. At the time of the acquisition, Rajiv was Matrix's chief executive officer.

Before becoming president, Rajiv was Mylan’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, responsible for the company’s global research and development (R&D) centers, and manufacturing and distribution units. Earlier he served as the executive vice president in charge of Mylan’s Global Technical Operations, overseeing the company's generic biologics efforts as well as initiatives related to emerging markets. Rajiv has played a key role in enhancing and rationalizing Mylan's global supply chain and expanded product pipeline, as well as leveraging Mylan in India's capabilities across the company.

Rajiv has worked for more than 28 years in the global generic pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Matrix in 2005, Rajiv was head of Global Development and Regulatory at Sandoz. He started his R&D career at Ranbaxy Laboratories, rising to head of Generics R&D.

Rajiv earned his master's degree in pharmaceutical technology from Punjab University, India, and has more than 60 process patents to his credit.

Dr. B. Hari Babu
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mylan Laboratories Limited

Hari Babu joined Mylan Labs in May 2000, and he has held various positions in R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality. Hari enforces the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance at our manufacturing facilities in India. He has worked for nearly 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

In his current role, Hari is responsible for all of Mylan Labs’ operations including R&D, active pharmaceutical ingredient and finished dosage production, supply chain management, environmental health and safety, sales and marketing, human relations and finance.

Prior to joining Mylan, he worked in various companies in the pharmaceutical space in R&D and Regulatory Affairs.

Hari earned a Ph.D. and master’s of science from Andhra University as well as a bachelor’s of science from Nagarjuna University. He has several national and international publications to his credit and also has filed for a number of patents.

Sanjeev Sethi

Sanjeev Sethi joined Mylan Labs in 2005 as senior vice president, Finished Dosage Forms, Technical Operations. Later, he was promoted to executive vice president, Finished Dosage Forms Technical Operations. He played a vital role in building the teams and infrastructure for R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Management and Commercial Manufacturing of Finished Dosage Forms. Under his leadership, several products were developed and commercialised, including the flagship portfolio of ARV finished dosage forms.

Currently, Sanjeev leads Mylan Inc.’s global Portfolio Management team, R&D and Launch Management teams.

Sanjeev has a post graduate degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Punjab University. He has 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in other companies including Ranbaxy and Sandoz in the areas of Formulations Development and Regulatory Affairs. He has 40 international patents to his credit.

Susanto Banerjee 
Executive Director & Head HR - India & Emerging Markets

Susanto Banerjee joined Mylan Labs in December 2009 as Head of Finance and Information Technology (IT) overseeing Mylan’s operations in India and China. He is responsible for all aspects of Finance, including Financial Operations and Plant Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax and Treasury, IT Applications Implementation and Support, IT Infrastructure Architecture and Support.

Susanto has more than 20 years of experience in various industries. Before joining Mylan, Susanto was the CFO of MphasiS, an IT and Information Technology Enabled Service company, listed in India and based out of Bangalore. He began his career at Berger Paints, the second largest paints manufacturer in India after a short stint with Lovelock and Lewes based out of Kolkata. He has worked in various roles in Finance interacting with Operations, Business and IT throughout his professional career.

Susanto is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
